Japan, a country  which can be found in East Asia, a nation that is recognized as economic leader and technology.

After the WORLD WAR II, Japan suffered from all kinds of pollution - water, air and in land; because of the heavy industrialization; many factories were built, producing toxic waste that is being dump in lakes, rivers and sea, and emitting smoke; which both contributed badly to the health of the people.

Resulting for the egression of new diseases like Minamata disease -  is a neurological syndrome ; Yokkaichi asthma and Itai Itai disease. Some of the disease was rooted from eating sea foods, which has been infected by the mercury that has been drawn by the factories in the water.

During the Japan's industrialization period, synchronous to the economic growth is the deterioration of the environment and people's health.

There was a time that the Japanese have been afraid of the development of their country, because of the consequences that the industrialization. So they passes several laws concerning the environment and the development of their industry.

Similar to what Japan had experience before our country is experiencing heavy problem in terms of pollution. We should learn to Japan's Lessons on the Economy and the Environment.

2 komento:

  1. This documentary really hit the core of being a human being. When we are down and at our lowest, our priority and our focus is only to get up, get up high faster in any way possible. In this case the Japanese people who are at their lowest point after being devastated by the horrors of World War II, they saw and use industrialization to get up and bring a boost to their economy, so all they do is develop and build numerous factories in aid for their economic problems, not knowing and not caring about the bad effects this will cause to the people and the environment. But after they wake up to the reality and see different problems that these factories produced, they respond to the problem and find solution for it. Their government respond in the right way, putting people first before its economy. The lesson is, if you want to get up, focus on the goal but do not forget what is around that is also important.

They executed a plan that will increase their growth at a cost of destruction of the environment and pollution. It is important to account everything especially living things and the environment when making a plan. It is best when you can achieve growth without unnecessary bad effects.
